We were all shocked and devastated to hear that Col. Sharon Asman, commander of the Nahal Brigade, collapsed and passed away during a fitness workout. Throughout his command of the Etzion Brigade, the late Col. Asman led many operations in our sector, protecting the residents of Efrat and Gush Etzion. For this we are forever grateful.
Over the past decade we have witnessed many people suffer from cardiac arrest, some of whom were in excellent shape and without any known medical issues. Using a defibrillator shortly after the moment of collapse can save approximately 90% of these patients. It is therefore crucial that defibrillators be installed in public parks and playgrounds so that they are easily accessible to the community.
In collaboration with Keren Efrat, The Efrat Local Council is launching the "Seal Us in the Book of Life" campaign to place 15 defibrillators in public parks and playgrounds throughout Efrat in memory of the late Col. Sharon Asman. The goal of this campaign is to enable a rapid medical response that can save lives.
The Talmud states "Whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved the entire world" (Sanhedrin 37). Donate today and help us save lives! Together we will merit to be written and sealed in the Book of Life.
The cost of a defibrillator in a cabinet with a weather protective covering is NIS 6,350.
